Unfortunately there are still people out there that don’t know what woodturning is. For these people I like to describe it as “ Horizontal Pottery with Attitude.” Years ago in Florida I had my own shop where I designed and built custom furniture. Thru the many magazines I was reading, I became very intrigued with woodturning. At the time I felt the best way to learn was to experiment. So to make a short story long, in 1993, I bought my first lathe and was addicted from the get go. My first four years of turning was done in the spare time I had from building furniture. When my wife and I relocated to NC, I no longer was able to build furniture due to the conditions of the barn, however, I was able to turn, once the barn was equipped with electricity. Now with all my energy concentrated on woodturning, my passion and creativity have grown like wildfire.
